About the module

The Shturval platform provides the kubectl-shturval-plugin module for accessing clusters from the command line.

Please note! kubectl-shturval-plugin works only with the internal authentication provider.

The module downloads cluster kubeconfigs and authenticates to the platform. You can download:

  • kubeconfig for all clusters available to the user;
  • kubeconfig for a single cluster.

After the cluster kubeconfigs are loaded, manage available clusters using kubectl commands.

When you authenticate with the module, you must specify connection parameters for the platform. To avoid entering all parameters on every connection, save them in a configuration file. When a configuration file exists, the module uses the saved parameter values for authentication.

Configuration file

You can obtain or download the configuration file (shturval-login-plugin.yaml) with the required parameters in one of the following ways:

  1. Generate it with the kubectl-shturval-plugin module from the command line. For more information, see authentication with a configuration file from the console.
  2. Download it from the Shturval platform GUI.

To install the module, follow the installation instructions.

Authentication options

  1. With a downloaded configuration file from the GUI.
  2. With a configuration file prepared in the console (without the GUI).
  3. Without a configuration file and without the GUI.
