Recovery recommendations

Regularly created backups can help you quickly restore system operation:

• in case of management cluster loss;
• in case of client cluster loss (all Control Plane nodes are NotReady);
• in case of client cluster deletion;
• in case of loss of critical client cluster data.

It is recommended to configure backups for at least:

1. Client cluster namespaces in the management cluster. The backup must include all namespaced resources of client cluster namespaces.

2. Infrastructure providers in the management cluster.

3. ClusterRoles in the management cluster.

4. Client clusters with the full data set required to keep deployed applications running.

Please note! In backup settings for client clusters with a full data set, disable pod volume file system backup for all volumes (defaultVolumesToFsBackup).

These resources can help you regain control of client clusters if the management cluster fails, as well as recover client clusters.
