Cluster-API Provider (Cluster-API)

The Cluster-API provider (Cluster-API) manages the life cycle of Kubernetes clusters in the Shturval platform. Cluster-API provider functions:

  • Management and scaling of cluster nodes;
  • Monitoring the status of clusters and nodes;
  • Managing restrictions for scheduling pods on nodes (Taints);
  • Self-Healing of cluster nodes: health check and automatic recovery (MachineHealthCheck).

The module is critical for the operation of the Shturval platform (cannot be disabled). In the Shturval platform, Shturval Backend is installed only in the management cluster.

To view the status of a service in the management cluster, go to the Installed Services page of the Services and Repositories section. Find Cluster-API Provider (shturval-capi) and click Manage.

The operation of the Cluster-API Provider (shturval-capi) depends on the operation of services in the management cluster:

  • CRD for the provider module shturval-capi-crds;
  • Local storage module shturval-local-csi;
  • External connection control module shturval-ingress-controller.
