Cluster update module (Shturval Updater)

The cluster update module (Shturval Updater) provides automatic updating of the management cluster and client clusters in the Shturval platform. Shturval Updater is responsible for:

• updating system components and cluster services;
• cluster version management;
• consistency and compatibility between versions of the Shturval platform and versions of Kubernetes.

The module is critical for the operation of the platform (cannot be disabled). By default, the module is installed in the client clusters and management cluster in the enabled state.

To view the service status, go to the Installed Services page of the Services and Repositories section. Find Service Management Module (shturval-services) and click Manage.

For the module to work correctly, the following services must be enabled in the cluster:

• CRD for cluster update module (shturval-update-crds);
• Cluster network management module (shturval-networking).

The module operates with custom resources:

• ShturvalUpdate - sets the update version for the cluster, displays the update status;
• ShturvalUpdateChannel - sets the update channel. In the Shturval platform, updates are available only via a stable channel;
• ShturvalUpdateSchedule - deferred update parameters are set in the custom resource.
