Application requirements

When deploying client applications that require metrics collection:

  1. One of the following resources must be installed, describing the parameters for collecting metrics from the application:

    • PodMonitor or ServiceMonitor (Prometheus Operator);
    • VMPodScrape or VMServiceScrape (VictoriaMetrics Operator).

  2. The application must be instrumented with the Prometheus/VictoriaMetrics/Otel monitoring libraries and provide metrics in the OpenMetrics format.
