Monitoring module. Centralized collection of metrics (Victoria Metrics)

The Victoria Metrics-based monitoring module provides collection, storage and aggregation of metric data from client clusters and the management cluster. Victoria Metrics is deployed in the Shturval platform management cluster and includes the following components:

• Victoria Metrics Storage. Metrics storage component
• Victoria Metrics Insert. The centralized metrics collection component receives metrics from Control component of the monitoring module (Victoria Metrics Agent).
• Victoria Metrics Select. The component executes incoming requests, retrieving the necessary data from Victoria Metrics Storage.
• Victoria Metrics Alert. The component ensures that alerts are sent that meet certain conditions.
• Victoria Metrics Alert Manager. The component is responsible for routing events and sending alerts.

In the Shturval platform, Victoria Metrics components are included in the charts:

• shturval-monitoring. The monitoring module for centralized storage of metrics contains:
  • VM Insert;
  • VM Select;
  • VM Storage.
• shturval-metrics-collector. Based on Victoria Metrics Agent. Monitoring module control component (Victoria Metrics Agent) contains:
  • VM Alert;
  • VM Alert Manager.

Due to large volumes of metric data, you may need to increase your Victoria Metrics disk space. More details on the page How to increase VictoriaMetrics storage capacity.

Monitoring module in Shturval platform #

By default, the module is installed in the management cluster in the enabled state. To view the settings, go to the Installed services page of the Services and repositories section, find Monitoring module. Centralized metrics storage component (shturval-monitoring) and click Manage.

For monitoring to work correctly, shturval-monitoring-crds must be enabled and running in the management cluster.
