IP address assignment module (Metacni-ipam)
На этой странице
The IP address assignment module on interfaces created by Multus (Whereabouts) is responsible for IP address management (IPAM) for the network interfaces of the pods.
The module allows you to:
- assign IP addresses within a range in CIDR notation (without the need to use a DHCP server);
- if necessary, add IP addresses to the list of exclusions of range addresses.
When an IP address is assigned to a pod, the pod tracks that IP address in the data store throughout the life of the pod. When a pod is deleted, the module “frees” the IP address and makes it available for assignment.
By default, the module is not installed on clusters. To install the module, go to the Available Charts page of the Services and Repositories section in the GUI. On the “shturval” tab, find the shturval-metacni-ipam chart and click “Install”.
Select the required chart version. Please note! The module must be installed in the namespace kube-system.
After selecting the chart version, the available “Service Configuration Options” (values) will be displayed on the right side of the screen. Enter the required parameters as custom values in the “Service Specification” block.
Network interface IP address management options are configured in the NetworkAttachmentDefinition resource. Go to NetworkAttachmentDefinition for an example resource specification and ipam configuration.
