TLS certificate management module (Cert Manager)

The TLS certificate management module is the controller of TLS (Transport Layer Security) certificates for applications and components in the Kubernetes cluster. The module is based on Cert Manager. The module provides:

  • creating and updating certificates;
  • renewal of certificates before their expiration;
  • revocation of certificates.

The module is a critical service for the operation of the Shturval platform (cannot be disabled). Installed by default in the management cluster and client clusters.

To view the status of a service in the cluster, go to the Installed Services page of the Services and Repositories section. Find TLS Certificate Management Module (shturval-cert-manager) and click Manage.

For the service to work correctly, the Resource creation component for the TLS certificate management module (shturval-cert-manager-crds) must be installed and enabled in the cluster.

To track the validity period of API Kubernetes certificates, the Shturval platform provides a Certificate Verification Module.
