Resource requirements

The management cluster must include at least one Control Plane node. For high availability, the management cluster must include at least three Control Plane nodes and three Worker nodes. Install the management cluster on hardware that meets the configuration in the tables below.

The network configuration must meet the following requirements:

  1. The second IP address in the allocated subnet is always used for Control Plane virtual IP addresses.
  2. All cluster nodes have access to the mirror (Registry).

A client cluster must include at least one Control Plane node and one Worker node. For high availability, a cluster must include at least three Control Plane nodes and two Worker nodes. Client cluster system requirements are listed on Client cluster requirements.

The number of cluster nodes depends on compute requirements for application software, including redundancy and update mechanisms. Note The Shturval platform license package limits Worker nodes and vCPU. If you exceed the limit, a notification appears on all cluster GUI screens.

If resource utilization exceeds 80%, add another node.

Metrics are retained for 7 days; logs rotate when storage fills up.

Minimum system requirements for the management cluster

When installing a cluster on a Control Plane node, only services critical for cluster operation from the Shturval repository are installed. Logging, monitoring, and backup services are not installed in such a cluster.

Note

  • Do not use a management cluster deployed on a single Control Plane node in production-like environments.
  • In this configuration, you can deploy up to 5 client clusters on the management cluster.
  • If needed after installation, you can add hosts in the Shturval v2 provider when the cluster was created with Shturval v2, or scale management cluster nodes for clusters with oVirt or vSphere providers for full operation.

Minimum system requirements for a STAND-ALONE cluster

You can use the management cluster to run workloads without creating client clusters. For more on STAND-ALONE clusters, see the standalone cluster page.

Note The requirements below cover system services only and do not include workload requirements. For a Stand-alone cluster in a closed environment, use mirror requirements from the minimum configuration.
