| Namespace | shturval-capov-csi |
Purpose
shturval-capov-csi - oVirt CSI module. Allows you to connect disks from oVirt as PersistentVolume upon request via StorageClass when using oVirt-based clusters.
Where to configure
Services and repositories → Installed services → shturval-capov-csi → Manage.
Setting up storage classes: StorageClasses. For clusters on oVirt, after installing the shturval-capov provider, when creating a cluster with CSI integration, the module can be installed automatically.
Installing a chart in a cluster
If CSI integration was enabled when creating a cluster with the oVirt provider, the module is installed automatically. To manually install, go to Services and Repositories → Available Charts, find the shturval-capov-csi chart and click Install.
In the Service Specification block, specify the parameters for access to oVirt Engine and the storage domain:
- ovirtCredentials — oVirt Engine URL, login, password, CA bundle (base64), flag to disable SSL verification;
- storageClass.parameters.storageDomainName — the name of the Storage Domain in oVirt for creating disks.
Customvalues example
ovirtCredentials:
ovirtUrl: "https://rhv-mg.example.com/ovirt-engine"
ovirtUsername: "admin@internal"
ovirtPassword: "<password>"
ovirtCaBundle: "<CA certificate in base64>"
ovirtInsecure: "false"
storageClass:
parameters:
storageDomainName: "VM_Store"
| Parameter | Description | Type | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
ovirtUrl | oVirt Engine URL | string | https://rhv-mg.example.com/ovirt-engine |
ovirtUsername | oVirt Engine username (with domain) | string | admin@internal |
ovirtPassword | oVirt Engine user password | string | Password |
ovirtCaBundle | CA bundle for oVirt Engine certificate verification, encoded in base64 | string | LS0tLS1CRUdJTi… |
ovirtInsecure | Disable oVirt Engine SSL certificate verification. Specify the value in quotes in customvalues | boolean | "false" |
storageDomainName | Storage Domain name in oVirt where disks will be created | string | VM_Store |
For the module to work, shturval-networking must be enabled in the cluster. If you need to redefine chart parameters, apply the changes via ShturvalServicePatch.
After installation, StorageClass ovirt-csi will be added to the cluster. To use it by default, remove the storageclass.kubernetes.io/is-default-class: "true" annotation from the StorageClass local-path (Storage → StorageClasses → local-path → Labels and Annotations).
Using oVirt CSI in a cluster with the Shturval v2 provider
Using oVirt CSI in a cluster with the Shturval v2 provider is only possible with hosts deployed on the oVirt (RHV) virtualization platform.
Installation when creating a cluster
If the module is installed when creating a cluster with the Shturval v2 provider, specify the customvalues from the section above.
Installation in a deployed cluster
If the cluster is already deployed with the Shturval v2 provider on oVirt hosts:
- If you have an old oVirt CSI installation, remove it.
- Install the module in the namespace
shturval-capov-csiwith customvalues from the section above.
After installation, the StorageClass is created as default. If necessary, remove the default flag from one of the StorageClass (local-path or ovirt-csi).
