Purpose

shturval-metacni-ipam - module for assigning IP addresses on Multus interfaces based on Whereabouts. Used in conjunction with shturval-metacni to allocate IPs from a pool in additional pod networks.

Where to configure

Services and repositories → Installed services → shturval-metacni-ipam → Manage.

Note: Requires installation in namespace kube-system.

Usage

IPAM (IP Address Management) options are configured in the NetworkAttachmentDefinition resource in the ipam field. The module allows you to:

  • assign IP addresses from a range in CIDR notation without a DHCP server;
  • add IP addresses to the exclusion list.

The IP address is tracked in the data store throughout the life of the pod and is “released” when it is deleted.
